Yoga Nidra for Transformation
What is Yoga Nidra and how can it help me as an actor, performer and creative?
Yoga Nidra is deep meditative practice that was first used Swami Satyananda Saraswati in 1970. Swami Satyanda discovered that by utilizing certain relaxation techniques and key words he could effect deep and radical change in the participators of the practice.
The practice is done laying down, with your eyes closed. You are guided to choose a Sankalpa (A positive reaffirming statement such as, I am healthy, I am abundant, I am in optimal health), Gentle voice cues are then used to bring the practicioner (You) into a state of deep relaxation, Specificaly the dream like place right before you drift off to sleep.
Research has shown that in this ultimate state of receptivity the impressions made by such statements are 10x more powerful then those made during consciouss states of awareness.
In a sense, By choosing a powerful Sankalpa you are planting a seed deep into the subconsious mind where it will blossom and grow.
The magic of the yoga nidra is that when used correctly, You become the creator of your own destiny.
The Yoga Nidra becomes a tool for massive shifts in consciousness and deep meditative states.
